2008 Malbec

2008 Malbec
Varietal: 100% Malbec
AVA: Horse Heaven Hills
Vineyard: Elerding
Production Notes: 25 brix at harvest, aged in French oak for 17 months, 12.8% alcohol at bottling.
Description: With a regal purple-ruby color this wine invokes intense berry fruit on the nose with aromas of plum, prune and underlying oak. This complex wine explodes with strawberry, anise, and even hints at subtle peach and nectarine flavors; however, lingering in the back is the taste of chocolate and cherries, Black Forest cake, anyone?
Critical Acclaim: "Complex and earthy, with peppery spice. For a Malbec it works, bringing a sharpness and focus to the wine. This could almost pass for a Loire valley red, but for the deep fruitiness. At 12.8% alcohol, it?s quite impressive." - Wine Enthusiast Magazine
