2008 Tempranillo
2008 Tempranillo
Varietal: 100% Tempranillo
AVA: Horse Heaven Hills
Vineyard: Elerding
Production Notes: 23.5 brix at harvest, aged 22 months in American oak, 13.9% alcohol at bottling.
Description: Earth, black pepper, and cherry swirl together with a faint scent of oak, making this wine command attention. Understated caramel and coffee flavors are pushed to the side by the dominant long spice and pepper finish. This wine makes you crave steak or roasted lamb, but we swear it?s vegetarian.
Critical Acclaim: "Stottle does an especially good job with Tempranillo, sourced from the same site as its Nebbiolo. Fruity and fleshy, loaded with bright berry notes, it reflects its 21 months in barrel in its complex streaks of spice, chocolate and butterscotch." - Wine Enthusiast Magazine
